Reel 1 contains materials dated Printed material, news clippings and scrapbooks of the Women's Christian Temperance Union of Long Eddy, Sullivan County, New York and the Loyal Temperance Legion of New York State.
Included are minutes, a treasurer's account book, a scrapbook of clippings of the column "W.C.T.U. Dept.," and annual reports of several temperance societies. Among the outstanding extra-parochial events which have been held in the parish were a meeting of the General Convention of the Church in 18o1, when Dr.
Moore was consecrated to the see of New York and the Thirty-nine Articles of Religion established, and the election in of the first bishop of New Jersey, the Right Rev. John Croes. An internal war immediately took place in Redstone Association and this same year 14 churches in Washington County and near by withdrew from that association because it refused to alter its constitution, or dissolve, and at a meeting in Washington on the second Lord's Day of November,organized a new association.
